Types of Rooms
We have a range of different room options to suit all preferences.
The information on this page is for students applying for accommodation for 2024/25. If you are currently living with us and have a question about your room, please refer to the Accommodation Guide 24/25.
Our rooms
Our student accommodation offers a variety of room types tailored to suit your preferences. Ranging from cosy standard rooms to the luxury of premium en suites, we have the room for you.
All our rents are inclusive, meaning utility bills for energy, water, and WiFi are included in the rent. Our family and couple accommodation are an exception to this, as the utility fees are separate and based on usage.
All our rooms come with:
- a bed and mattress
- a desk with a lamp and chair
- a wardrobe
- shelving
- a bedside cabinet or chest of drawers
- curtains or blinds
- a waste paper bin
Bedding and soft furnishings are not included in your room. All our accommodation is self-catered, and you will have access to an equipped kitchen. You will need to bring your own crockery, cutlery, utensils and pots and pans. You can pre-order bedding and kitchen essentials from UniKitOut. Simply select the items you need and UniKitOut will deliver these straight to us before your arrival.
Rooms with standard facilities
Standard rooms share kitchen and bathroom facilities. These rooms can be found in Jesmond Road and Bowsden Court. Standard rooms are the most affordable room type, and cost less than rooms with an en suite.
Rooms with washbasin
Washbasin rooms have a handbasin (sink) in each bedroom, while other facilities like showers and toilets are shared. They tend to be more expensive than rooms with standard facilities, but less expensive than en-suite rooms. Washbasin rooms are available at Jesmond Road, Marris House, and Windsor Terrace.
Studio
Our studios offer the perfect combination of sleeping, lounging, and cooking spaces, all in one private area. Each studio comes with a bedroom, lounge, kitchen, and bathroom. Studio options are for single occupants and are available at Park View, and Kensington Terrace.
Self-contained family flats
If you plan on bringing your family with you, you might consider living in one of our self-contained family flats. This type of accommodation features two to three private bedrooms, a separate lounge and kitchen area, as well as your own bathroom with a shower, toilet, and washbasin. They are available at Bowsden Court and are suitable for families and couples.
