If you’re new to exercise it can be tricky to know what type of training you should be doing to achieve your goals. It’s even harder to know what you should be eating to fuel your body pre and post workout as this can have a huge effect on how quickly you see results. I specialise in fat loss and muscle building (especially in the lower body region) and can give you some nutritional guidance to support your training program so you can get the results you want. As well as weight training and HIIT I also love to do pole dance. Hi I’m Anna, one of the personal trainers at Newcastle University. I first fell in love with fitness whilst I was studying at uni, initially I started because I wanted to counter balance all the nights out I was having in first year and all the extra calories I was consuming. Over time I started to see visible results and the effect it had on my day to day mood was something else.

Katie Elliot
Hi, I’m Katie,
I first trained and started working as a PT whilst at uni as health and fitness has always been something I’m really passionate about. I now have several years of experience working as PT and online coach part-time alongside my studies. I really enjoy helping others implement sustainable lifestyle changes to improve both their physical and mental health. I am now less focussed on aesthetic-related goals and adopt a more holistic approach to fitness to promote optimal health, wellbeing and longevity. Consistency and building healthy habits is key to success!

Staying active is a huge part of my life – I currently do a combination of running, functional strength training and yoga. I also try to eat a nutritious and balanced diet as this is so important to fuel my body properly in order to perform and feel my best. When life gets busy, I find exercise a great way to manage stress.
