Entry Requirements
We accept a wide range of qualifications offered for entry to our degrees. We will consider qualifications that are not listed on an individual basis.
Before you apply you should check the entry requirements for your chosen degree.

We will consider all qualifications that are of a suitable academic level. These include:
- A/AS levels (including International A levels)

Subject choices at school and college
Choosing your A-level (or equivalent) subjects carefully is really important – especially if you have aspirations to study at a leading university. The Russell Group’s guide, Informed Choices, includes advice from admissions professionals on the best subject combinations for a wide range of university courses as well as the best choices for students who want to keep their options open.
International qualifications
We welcome applications from international students. Before applying, you should read our information on applying for a student visa.
ABB at A level is typically the minimum required for entry to an Undergraduate course. You can check the equivalent grades for the qualifications offered in your country. Some degrees will have different entry requirements, so check specific entry requirements for each degree.
English language requirements
If you are not a native English speaker, you will need to show that you have an adequate knowledge of written and spoken English before you begin your studies. We list English language requirements as part of the entry requirements for each degree.
If you do not meet the English language or academic requirements for your chosen degree, you might be able to take a course run by INTO Newcastle University. This will bring you up to the required level.
