We all have powerful memories of our Freshers’ Week and setting foot on campus for the very first time. But why should the fun stop after graduation?
The 2024 Alumni Re-Fresher Weekend is your opportunity to relive your university days and reinvigorate your love for Newcastle.
We hope you'll join us, wherever you are in the world, from Friday 12 - Sunday 14 July for a jam-packed weekend of connecting with each other, developing professionally and personally, and discovering new horizons.

Reconnect with your fellow alumni
Did you know that you are part of a 270,000-strong global alumni community? With a shared love for Newcastle uniting you all, and a wealth of experience amongst you, there are lots of benefits to reconnecting with former classmates (or forging new connections!). Over the weekend, you can enjoy lots of chances to meet up and socialise, including:
Revisit your city and campus
We have lots of opportunities for you to walk down memory lane and revisit your favourite spots throughout the Refresher Weekend. Whether you want to discover how our historic city-centre campus has evolved since your student days, explore the newest university facilities or traverse the city with your tastebuds – there’s something for everyone!
Refresh your knowledge and skills
Are you looking to upskill or want to deep-dive into a new topic? Join us on campus on Saturday morning for a series of free 1-hour workshops with experts from across our university community and local partners.
Sessions include:
- Navigating the 2024 recruitment market and cultivating your personal brand, Emma Moffatt (BA History 2018) - Head of Talent, Basecamp Talent and Fearless Adventures
- Britain and the World in 2024, Martin Farr - Senior Lecturer in Contemporary British History, Newcastle University
