Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship
Coach colleagues towards personal and professional success.
Overview
Our apprenticeship programme will develop your skills in active listening, questioning techniques, and contracting. This is all underpinned by a strong theoretical element.
The programme will help you build your knowledge and gain the practical skills and tools to deliver coaching within your organisation. It will take 15 months to complete including 3 months for the end-point assessment.
Programme content
The Level 5 Coaching Professional Apprenticeship is for coaches and managers across all sectors. The course will help you develop knowledge, skills and behaviours such as:
- coaching skills, active listening skills and questioning techniques
- reflective practice and learning theory – understanding the importance of self-reflection
- models and techniques to embed into your practice
- diversity and inclusion – to value different perspectives and avoid unconscious bias
- evaluation of coaching needs, considering the appropriate interventions
- understanding the organisational culture and how your own coaching approach embodies this
How is the programme delivered?
The delivery of our apprenticeship programme will include:
- versatile online delivery
- a number of in-person on-campus training days
- support by a vocational skills coach
Apprentices can begin the programme at any time due to a rolling admission process.
You will collect and collate evidence through real life, work-based practice for your portfolio. The final end-point assessment involves an observation, an interview based on your portfolio and knowledge test.
The programme fully satisfies the average minimum six hours per week off the job learning. This is required for all apprenticeships funded through the levy.
Entry requirements
Applicants without a Grade C or above in GCSE English and maths (or equivalent qualifications) will need to achieve Level 2 English and maths prior to taking the end-point assessment. This can be arranged as part of the course.
All applicants’ skills and prior experience will be assessed prior to admission to ensure the programme is suited to their role, knowledge and experience.
