Mobility Awards are available for students and staff who want to undertake research, study or work abroad.
Support for Entrepreneurial Activity
Santander Universities support a wide range of entrepreneurial activity. This includes financial awards for students participating in the Rise Up programme, as well as support for public engagement events. Please contact the Rise Up team in the Careers Service for more information.
Sports scholarships are available via the Centre for Physical Recreation and Sport. They help attract elite athletes and reward sporting excellence at Newcastle University.

Santander supports the Students’ Union by providing funds for student-led social enterprise volunteering activity.
Undergraduate and Graduate Internships
Through the Careers Service, Santander Universities supports current students and graduates to undertake funded internships from anywhere between one week to 10 weeks.
Students and staff at Newcastle University are able to undertake a work skills placements with Santander Universities through the branch on campus. The placements offer a valuable insight into global business, allows for an ideal way to experience a business environment and encourages students and staff to start or enhance their career. The Discovery Project
The Discovery Foundation aims to help people through grants to fund skills, knowledge and innovative charity projects across the UK. Discovery Grants of up to £5,000 are available for charities that help people in local communities. The Foundation also manages Santander Matched Donation Scheme which matches money raised by Santander staff for UK registered charities.
