Arches: Your Alumni Newsletter
Arches is a bi-monthly digital newsletter for Newcastle University alumni. It celebrates the achievements of our global alumni community and shares the latest news and events.
November 2023 edition
Welcome to your final Arches newsletter of 2023. What a year it’s been for our global alumni community!
In this edition, we celebrate your achievements and showcase the alumni events that have taken place over the past year. It's hard to believe, but we still have time for more celebrations before 2023 is over. A further 3,000 students are scheduled to graduate from our Newcastle campus and join our fold in the next few weeks! I'm sure you'll join me in congratulating and officially welcoming them in the new year.
As we wish you a peaceful festive season, we are all too aware that our world continues to endure the pain of war and conflict. It is often hard to know how to respond to great suffering and as a University, we always take inspiration from the acts of courage made by academics, students and alumni, often in the face of great risk to themselves. Among these are academics supported by our partner organisation the Campaign for At Risk Academics and our own Sanctuary Scholars. Thank you to all those alumni who support this work.
If you have news you would like to share with your fellow alumni in the new year, please get in touch. And finally, I'd like to wish you all a happy holiday season and a joyous new year.
