MAP Architecture

Lessons from a Resilient Architectural Practice. How compassion and care can lead to a fulfilling and impactful career.

Rob and Matt will explore how working with compassion and care can lead to a fulfilling and impactful career as an architect. Our lecture and discussion will be based on the lessons we have learnt working together over the past 14 years and how these key moments have shaped the way we work as architects and as a practice. From our first built project in Nicaragua, where we had to ‘move fast and fix things’ to our more recent work retrofitting listed buildings and creating low energy buildings. These lessons have been turned into core working methods at MAP Architecture, providing the foundation for our journey towards becoming a leading, climate positive architecture practice.

We believe that these working methods can be used by any architect with a desire to build personal resilience whilst creating a healthier future for all. We will explain these methods through clear and practical advice and real life experiences.
