A group of thirteen Stage 5 Master of Architecture students are taking part in a Learning Lab module, which sees them exploring built environment education with primary school children. This outreach and action research module is part of the first year in the postgraduate Master of Architecture programme.
In the first semester, the students are working with Year 1 children and their teachers at Cragside Primary School to develop learning resources that can be used by schools to enable learning through and about architecture.
These resources will also be shared with our Urban Room at The Farrell Centre as the beginning of a co-created toolkit of outreach and engagement resources to be used by children and young people.
Year 1 were delighted to welcome architecture students from Newcastle University on Tuesday. We learned all about designing and creating buildings. This included constructing our own dens, drawing our friends' dream houses, and exploring structure through yoga. #creativity pic.twitter.com/Df76Ur4QSU
