Symposium celebrates religious co-existence

An International Symposium aiming to exploring community and religious co-existence, took place from Monday 13 – Wednesday 15 January.

27 January 2025

The Symposium, titled Religious Co-existence: Embodied Interactions in Sacred Spaces and Faith Practices, was organised by Christos Kakalis and George Tsourous in collaboration with Religions For Peace UK. At the heart of the event was a focus on the nuanced ways in which sacred spaces serve as arenas/sites of faith, dialogue, and transformation. The two-day event included talks from four keynote speakers as well as discussion of submitted papers.

Also featured at the event was the incredible “Shared Sacred Sites” exhibition, a highly successful travelling exhibition that has been showcased in several countries, including France, Greece, Turkey, and the USA. Designed as an interactive, curated space, the exhibition facilitates workshops amongst stakeholders and the local community to foster awareness and explore possibilities for future collaborations.
