I am an urban planner and designer interested in people’s experiences of their cities, particularly in the policies that shape those experiences. I have over 20 years of experience in urban design, urban planning, and policymaking in both academic and professional settings. My work examines how urban policy and governance shape urban space and intersect with planning, design, and community practices, particularly in topics related to urban mobility and community-led spatial transformation. I focus on collaborative work and work closely with communities and organisations to foster equitable partnerships through engagement and co-creation.

My teaching approach builds on critical pedagogy, blending theory and practice to encourage students to reflect on the ways power and knowledge intersect in policymaking, urban design, and planning. I strive to challenge students to think critically about their role in building just and sustainable urban communities while using creative approaches to make cities more inclusive and equitable.

My research examines how urban models, ideas, political processes, and regulations that shape urban space intersect into policymaking, urban planning, urban design, and community practices. I look at the intersections in three broader areas:
- urban mobility, accessibility & social equity
- participatory urban design & co-production
- use, design & governance of urban green areas and public spaces
