Edge Conditions

This studio investigated architectural responses to edge conditions, conceived both literally and figuratively. While the output requirements varied depending on students being in Stage 5 or 6, we organised a range of shared activities including readings, discussions, and sketch problems so as to develop a collective frame of reference for the entire studio through an open exchange of ideas.  

We started semester 1 with individual and group work examining and mapping designated sections/parts of Hadrian’s Wall, allowing Stage 6 students to broaden their horizons of inquiry of edge conditions both geographically as well as thematically with different kinds of edge conditions in mind.
