American Association of University Women

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) aims to promote the equity and education for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research.
 
The Association awards up to 5 International Fellowships per year for full time research or study in the United States to women who are not US citizens or permanent residents. Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited US institutions are supported. 
 
Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a US bachelor's degree and have applied to their proposed institutions of study by the time of their application. Postdoctoral applicants must provide proof of their doctorate degree.
 
The Fellowship award values are:
 
  • Master's / First Professional Degree: $18,000  
  • Doctoral: $20,000 
  • Postdoctoral: $30,000 
Funding may be used for educational expenses, living expenses, dependent children and travel to professional meetings, conferences or seminars. 
 
Preference is given to women who show prior commitment to the advancement of women and girls through civic, community and professional work. Recipients are also selected for demonstrating academic achievement.
