Band 5 Dietitian

My time at Newcastle University has been a whirlwind of emotions and I have enjoyed every minute. From NHS placements which showed me an insight into the worlds of both mental health and acute physical health, to practical cooking sessions in the lab making swallow safe meals, I have managed to establish a very broad bank of knowledge within Dietetics. I am excited to take this knowledge and experience forward in my first job as a Band 5 Dietitian in an acute hospital setting which I am starting in October. Communication skills are key when working with patients and I am lucky enough to have had lots of experience and training on this through role plays and placements which I think really stood out at my job interview! I am excited to see where my career will take me and look forward to taking on my own placement students from Newcastle University in the future – it’s the Dietetics circle of life!
