How to get to us

Newcastle University Business School is located in the centre of Newcastle upon Tyne.

From the city centre, follow signs for St James’ Park stadium. The Business School is next to the stadium and has clear signs to help you find it.

By Metro

The closest Metro stations to the Business School are:

  • St James (2-minute walk)
  • Haymarket (10-minute walk)
  • Monument (10-minute walk)

The Tyne & Wear Metro also connects to other parts of Newcastle and the wider region, making it an easy and convenient travel option.

By road

Newcastle is easy to reach by car via the A1(M) from the south or the A1 from Scotland.

Enter NE1 4SE into your sat nav to find us.

Please note that the Business School does not have public parking facilities. Parking is available at nearby public car parks.

Metro Park and Ride facilities are also available within and around Newcastle city centre. Further information regarding park and ride services can be found on the Newcastle City Council website.

By train

Newcastle Central Station is on the East Coast Mainline, with direct trains to major cities like London, Edinburgh, and Manchester. With a Student Railcard you save 1/3 on train travel instantly, too.

Below are some of the websites you might visit when planning on coming to Newcastle by train:

  • National Rail and Trainline – journey planning, live arrival and departure boards for UK stations
  • Eurostar – helps you plan your journey to us from Europe

The station is just a 15-minute walk to the Business School. Taxis, buses and Metro links are also available from the station.

By air

Newcastle International Airport is approximately 20 minutes away by car or Metro.

There is a Metro station within the airport. Take the Green Line to Haymarket or Monument.

Taxis are also available outside the airport terminal.

By sea

DFDS Seaways currently operates a daily overnight service between the Port of Tyne International Passenger Terminal at Royal Quays, North Shields, and IJmuiden, near Amsterdam.

There are buses to Newcastle city centre from the North Shields ferry terminal. The bus journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

The nearest Metro station is Percy Main, about a 20-minute walk from the terminal building. The Metro journey into the city centre takes 20 minutes.

Tyne Bridge work

February 2025: Newcastle’s iconic Tyne Bridge is currently undergoing a programme of restoration and refurbishment. This may cause some disruption when traveling into the city centre.
