Sustainability Forum
Our Sustainability Forum is an annual programme of extracurricular activities and events. It helps students learn about global sustainability issues so they can become responsible leaders.
The Sustainability Forum is a range of sustainability-focused events and activities. These are open to business school students at all levels of study. It offers diverse opportunities for students to connect with industry, communities and international partners.
We also provide a platform for sustainability initiatives. These come from the School and the wider University.
The Forum aligns with the Business School's Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability (ERS) Strategy.
Initiatives and projects
We embed sustainability into learning from day one, and run regular projects throughout the academic year. These include:
• an annual Sustainability Challenge workshop for undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA students
This takes place during Welcome Week. Students work together to tackle a sustainability challenge. It's a great opportunity for them to get to know their peers and become global systemic thinkers.
• annual student Case Competitions
In 2024, our MBA students worked with Barclays Bank to prepare a solution to a real business problem. They produced an executive-style report with recommendations and an implementation plan.
• research and practitioner dialogues
Each semester, we facilitate sustainability research exchanges and dialogues between academics and industry experts, ensuring theory meets practice.
• global competitions and events
We host international essay competitions, team challenges, and other sustainability-focused events in collaboration with academic, industry, and community partners.
