Let our success stories inspire your next partnership.

Sage plc

We have a significant ongoing partnership with Sage Plc - a leader in cloud business management solutions. It encompasses activities such as:

  • student projects
  • an annual data challenge
  • certification schemes
  • a host of careers activities

Sage worked with MBA student Emily Ball to expand its successful adult education training programme.

Emily researched how to increase the programme's reach, which helps unemployed individuals gain employment through Sage software training. Her recommendations impressed Tim O’Reilly, Sage’s Qualifications Manager, who said, “Why wouldn’t you work with an MBA at Newcastle? The students are highly skilled with excellent business acumen. I will be working again with the Business School.”

Our collaboration with Sage highlights the value of fostering university-industry partnerships and practical problem-solving.

Bloomberg

We have a close relationship with Bloomberg, supporting students to excel in the financial sector.

Every year, Bloomberg host student visits to their £1bn London HQ. Students can learn about the facilities and building features, which are designed to maximise sustainability and colleague engagement. Students also learn about careers in finance and gain insights into operations at Bloomberg.

Reflecting on a recent visit, Cameron Bateman, a Newcastle University Business School alumnus and Bloomberg AIM Trade Desk Specialist, said "I felt very privileged to be able to share my experiences with students who were enthusiastic and proactive in considering their future career options.”

The Business School itself has a dedicated suite of Bloomberg Terminals, accessible by all students in the Bloomberg Lab. Students also participate in the annual Bloomberg Global Trading Challenge, with students from Newcastle University ranking first in the UK in 2024.

We thoroughly enjoyed hosting students for a 'Working in Finance' panel and a tour of our global head office. We hope the students found it a valuable experience... some brilliant questions and fantastic engagement!
