Recruit Student and Graduate Talent

Engage with and recruit our talented students and graduates.

Our students are studying to become part of the next generation of business professionals. Our innovative programmes give them the skills, knowledge and experience they need to succeed in the workplace.

We can provide you with a range of opportunities to engage with and recruit the talented students and graduates you want to attract. Our team can support you in promoting vacancies, networking with our students, or raising your business profile.

Ways you can recruit our talent

There are a number of ways that you can recruit our students and graduates:

Provide an internship

Internships are an ideal way to provide a low risk, cost effective solution to fulfil a range of projects. Work with our talented students and gain fresh ideas for your workplace.

Internships can be tailored to support a wide range of projects. Internships usually vary from 50 to 400 hours in duration and can take place:

  • part time during the academic year
  • full or part time over the summer vacation

You can access our talented students through the NCL Internships scheme.

Bridges internships

We also offer exclusive Bridges internships. These provide fully-funded opportunities for small and medium sized regional organisations. You'll benefit from a recruitment service, including advertising and shortlisting. We will facilitate the internships throughout.

Promote your scheme

We can also promote your in-house internship schemes to our students.

Offer a placement opportunity

Unleash potential with a placement student. We recognise the impact a placement can have on a student and the business they work for. This is why all our undergraduate students can take a 9 to 12 month placement as part of their degree.

Placements have become a key part of the graduate recruitment process. Employers are looking to their placement students as their future talent pool. The placement year can be a year-long interview process. Our students are aware of this and are keen to impress.

We manage placements for all our undergraduate degree programmes. We can help you find a talented student that fits your needs, from across our programmes.

You may be new to placement opportunities and not sure how they could work for your business. Our team is available to discuss your requirements and offer advice.

Recruit a graduate

Upon graduation, our students will be seeking graduate schemes and entry level positions.

Our undergraduate finalists are available from the beginning of July. Pre-experience MSc students are students with less than two years of relevant work experience. Typically, MSc students complete their courses and become available from September.

Take part in events

Engage with our students in a way that suits you, including:

  • tailored employer skills workshops
  • careers fairs
  • one-on-one drop-in sessions
  • presentations
  • talks
  • events to raise your profile and scout for future talent.

You can take part in events to help students develop their networking skills and gain insights into careers and industry trends.

If you're interested in engaging with Newcastle University Business School to recruit student and graduate talent, please email the Graduate Outcomes team at nubs.employability@newcastle.ac.uk.

We thoroughly enjoyed hosting students for a 'Working in Finance' panel and a tour of our global head office. We hope the students found it a valuable experience... some brilliant questions and fantastic engagement!
