Our world is changing at an unprecedented rate. We can help you navigate the changing business landscape and inform your strategic decisions. We'll provide you with actionable insights and data. Utilise our research expertise and access the fresh perspectives of our talented students.

We will work with you to identify the optimal mechanism to solve your business challenge. We collaborate with you throughout to ensure a shared commitment to success, sustainability, and a positive impact from a local to global scale.

Ways we can work together

We can help you solve your business challenges. Whether through student projects, partnerships, or expert consultancy, our Business Partnerships team will work with you to find the right solution.

Student projects

Your business can benefit from our students' knowledge and skills. You'll get a fresh perspective on a challenge that you set for our talented students.

Our students will conduct research and offer recommendations that address your brief. They'll be guided by our experienced academics throughout the process.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs)

KTPs aim to generate profit for your business, while presenting an academic challenge for our researchers. A graduate associate works full-time for you and is supervised by one of our academics for half a day a week.

Projects last between 12 and 36 months and are part-funded by UKRI through Innovate UK. They are open to UK organisations only.

Arrow

Arrow is a programme built to help local businesses overcome hurdles to innovation. We connect you with the right expertise and facilities across four leading North East universities. Our researchers have collaborated with many regional businesses through Arrow, helping them thrive.

There's no cost to your business for eligible projects. Arrow is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Academic consultancy

Research typically focuses on creating new knowledge. However, academic consultancy offers a quicker, more focused solution.

Our academic colleagues bring a wealth of expertise across diverse disciplines. They combine years of research experience with real-world understanding.

Whether you need specialised insights or fresh perspectives, we can help address your unique business challenges by drawing on our broad knowledge base.

Sage Group plc

Our MBA students get the chance to take part in a live client project with a business. Sage Group plc wanted to work out how to get a successful training programme into more training facilities to increase its reach.

Tim O’Reilly, Qualifications Manager at Sage, described his experience as “really slick and well planned. From the initial prospecting event to the selection and subsequent project - it couldn’t have gone any better.”

He added, "Our MBA student had a real understanding of the problem we faced. Feedback and information gleaned will form part of our strategy moving forwards."

We thoroughly enjoyed hosting students for a 'Working in Finance' panel and a tour of our global head office. We hope the students found it a valuable experience... some brilliant questions and fantastic engagement!

Why wouldn’t you work with an MBA at Newcastle? The students are highly skilled with excellent business acumen. I will be working again with the Business School.
