Support Our Students

Give back to the next generation of business leaders.

We strive to give each student the skills and experience they need to become part of the next generation of business professionals. We support our students to realise their ambitions and succeed in their chosen career.

There are many opportunities to support our students' personal and professional development.

Ways you can support our students

There are several ways you and your organisation can support our students:

Become a mentor for our students

Share your expertise, inspire future professionals, and contribute to a student's career growth.

We have many mentorship opportunities across a range of programmes and disciplines.

Offer a scholarship or bursary

We work with a variety of organisations to support research, student activity and campus developments.

We're committed to working together to make a difference and provide a positive impact in our community.

We offer widening participation initiatives, funding, training and careers support.

Sponsor a prize for high-achieving students

In recognition of individual achievement, we offer a prize for the highest-performing student in specific subject areas.

Your organisation can sponsor a range of these prizes. This will raise your profile with students and access a host of benefits at the Business School.

You can tailor your support to reflect the priorities and interests of your business.

Contribute to our student fund

Since the Newcastle Student Fund launched in June 2021, more than £370,000 has been donated. The fund supports student causes, including:

  • providing IT provision for refugee and asylum-seeking students
  • offering bursaries to help take away financial barriers to extra-curricular activities
  • supporting with costs associated with interviews after graduation

Inspiring student success

Meet some of the individuals and businesses who’ve supported our students through prizes, donations, and more. Their contributions make a real difference, helping to inspire and reward the next generation of talent.

Our partnership with Fairstone

In 2023, we committed to a three year partnership with wealth management company Fairstone. The partnership helps to recognise top-performing students through awards and recruitment schemes.

Fairstone CEO Lee Hartley said: “As a business, we are committed to investing in and nurturing young talent. One in five new roles across multiple functions have been filled by graduates and we are looking to significantly grow that figure.

“We see this new partnership with Newcastle University as playing an important part in that, supporting the high calibre of their business and computing graduates and providing relevant, real world employment opportunities at Fairstone.”

We thoroughly enjoyed hosting students for a 'Working in Finance' panel and a tour of our global head office. We hope the students found it a valuable experience... some brilliant questions and fantastic engagement!

Why wouldn’t you work with an MBA at Newcastle? The students are highly skilled with excellent business acumen. I will be working again with the Business School.
