Dr. Jiaxin (Bella) Liu is a Lecturer in Accounting at Newcastle University Business School. Before joining Newcastle, Bella taught at Northumbria University, gaining extensive experience across foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. Her teaching portfolio includes Transnational Education (TNE), working with international cohorts in Qatar. Prior to her academic career, Bella gained valuable industry experience as an accountant in a large electricity generation enterprise. She also worked as an A-Level Mathematics teacher. These diverse experiences have shaped Bella’s dynamic teaching style, blending academic concepts with practical, real-world applications.

Bella’s research focuses on empirical accounting and finance, with a particular interest in corporate disclosure, corporate governance, sustainability reporting, and responsible business practices. Her work explores how managerial characteristics influence corporate behaviour and disclosure strategies.
