Dr Claudia Udroiu

Lecturer

Background

I joined Newcastle University Business School in October 2024 as a Lecturer. My research focuses on the interactions between fiscal policy and monetary policy, the modelling of inequalities, and the financing climate change policies within general equilibrium models. Prior to joining Newcastle, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, in Italy, where I also earned my PhD in Economics. During my PhD, I worked as an intern in the Monetary Policy and Analysis Division at the Deutsche Bundesbank.

Research

My research primarily focuses on the macroeconomic effects of monetary and fiscal policy. I also explore research questions in other areas of macroeconomics, such as climate change and inequality.


I mainly employ dynamic general equilibrium models and macroeconometric methods in my research.
