Dr Haiyan Lu
Lecturer in Ops & Supply Chain Mgmt
Haiyan earned her Ph.D degree in Logistics and Operation Management from Cardiff University Business School. Acknowledged as to the scientific rigor of her phd performance, she received the James Cooper Cup award from CILT in 2018. Haiyan joint Newcastle University Business School in 2021 as a lecturer /Assistant Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management.
Her research interests focus on sustainable supply chain management and sustainability issues within the food sector. She examines how sustainability practices are integrated into supply chain management activities and how they are influenced by both macro and micro factors, including institutional and political enforcement, as well as company strategy and network governance. The complexity of managing food systems has led her to further explore sustainable food chains in emerging economies.
An active researcher, Haiyan publishes in leading journals such as Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, Production Planning and Control, and the International Journal of Production Research, among others. She also provides professional services by reviewing papers for journals like Supply Chain Management: An International Journal, International Journal of Production Economics, and Journal of Business Research. Additionally, she serves as an associate editor in the area of Operations Research Management.
