Profile
I am currently pursuing a PhD in Business Management at Newcastle University Business School, where I am focused on exploring the intersection of business practices, ethics, and emerging technologies such as AI.
My academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Central South University of Forestry and Technology in China, followed by a Master of Science in Global Economy from the University of Glasgow, where I developed a deeper understanding of economic systems and international markets.
Professionally, I have held various roles, including teaching assistant positions at Newcastle University, where I assisted in undergraduate business courses. My background also includes experience as an accountant and educator in both the UK and China.
Additionally, I have contributed to workshops and events on topics such as ethnography, research methodologies, and AI's impact on business, further shaping my research interests.
Looking forward, I aim to continue my research in AI and its implications in business management, striving to contribute to both academic and practical discussions on the ethical use of technology in corporate settings.
Project title: How is Research Affected by New Technologies? A Study of the Heterogeneous Practices, Values, and Affordances of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Academic Research
Project description: This PhD introduces a mechanism for looking technology in organisation by merging the concepts provided by labour process theorists and affordances to understand the effect of Generative-AI on the academic labour process.
Research interests: My research interests lie at the intersection of business management, ethics, and emerging technologies, particularly focusing on the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping business practices. I am particularly interested in exploring the ethical implications of AI in corporate decision-making, its influence on organizational behavior, and how businesses can integrate AI responsibly to enhance productivity while maintaining ethical standards. Additionally, I have a keen interest in research methodologies, specifically ethnography, to understand the human and social dynamics that influence business environments. My research also extends to the areas of global economy, economic inequalities, and how technology can impact developing economies. Through my work, I aim to contribute to the growing body of knowledge on the ethical use of AI in business and offer insights into sustainable, technology-driven management practices.
