Staff Profile
Kim Weston is the Acting Head of Professional Services at Newcastle University Business School.
Kim is responsible for the development of strategy and professional service functions across the School. Working with the Senior Team and key academic leads to deliver the School's Strategy and Education for Life Sub-strategy as well as to embed the 'Influencing Globally'' Strategy across all relevant teaching and learning activities.
Prior to joining Newcastle University in October 2019, Kim played a lead role in Transforming the Student Experience at Northumbria University. She has over 30 years experience in Higher Education. Kim held several roles in the Faculty of Business and Law and Newcastle Business School including Quality Manager, Executive Officer, Principal Administrator for PG and Executive Education. She supported the University's academic regulatory framework and played a lead role in managing the Faculty's accreditations including AACSB and EPAS. She has advised on QAA operating principles as well as driving forward new initiatives in particular Degree Apprenticeships and other partnerships.
Kim spent 4 years with Northumbria Police during which time she was responsible for managing a high profile change project which saw the introduction of several new support roles set up to work with officers in managing offenders in the community.
