Lana Liu is Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Finance and currently Director of Studies of postgraduate taught programmes at Newcastle University Business School. Over the past 22 years at Newcastle University, she has served a number of management roles at school, faculty and university levels. She gained her doctoral degree in management accounting and is a fellow of Higher Education Academy (UK). Prior to her academic career, Lana worked in international accounting firms and publicly listed companies in mainland China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Esteem Indicators:
Lana was principal investigator of a number of UK-funded research projects (totalling over £141,000) and co-investigator of international collaborative research projects (equivalent to £168,000) over the years.
Lana has been awarded the first-ever CIMA Teaching Excellence (Global Silver) in 2020 and CIMA Excellence Award (Innovative Teaching Practices - UK) in 2022.
She was a member of CIMA examination and assessment oversight panel.
