Roles and Responsibilities
My role is to manage and co-ordinate all facilities and health and safety activity in Newcastle University Business School and Frederick Douglass Centre providing an exceptional service which is efficient and customer focused. On a daily basis I am responsible for leading and co-ordinating resources to ensure both buildings operate effectively. I work with Faculty and Estates to implement improvements to staff and students areas within the building.
Previous Roles
I was previously part of the Senior Management team at Northumbria Police where I was responsible for leading and managing number of high profile projects which led to savings and efficiencies. I was also the area command lead for an extension to the existing custody suite provision which led to improved facilities. I also worked closely with HQ to conduct a process review of the property systems which led to the implementation of a new more efficient system. I was also responsible for the leadership and development of a team of police staff over two Area Commands and outlying sector stations. I was PDR champion for the area commands and under my leadership and direction PDR completion rates were very successful. I have substantial knowledge of HR policies and procedures obtained via my CIPD and work related experience .In particular I have successfully led and managed grievances, disciplines and recruitment initiatives. I have led under performing teams and improved KPI turning team performance around to ensure effective delivery of objectives.
