Dr Periklis Boumparis
Lecturer in Finance
I am a Lecturer in Finance and DPD of the M.Sc. in Banking and Finance at Newcastle University Business School. I hold a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Liverpool, and an M.Sc. in Economics from the University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece. Prior to joining NUBS, I was an Assistant Professor in Finance at Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin.

My current research interests include Corporate Finance and Sustainable Finance.
My research has been published in a range of leading journals, including the Journal of International Money and Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis and the Economics Letters. I am also an active reviewer for leading journals in my field of research and have contributed to LSE blogs and the Greek newspaper “Kathimerini”.
I have presented my research at a number of international conferences including the French Finance Association Annual Conference, Multinational Finance Society Conference, Conference on International, Sustainable and Climate Finance and Growth, Royal Economic Society PhD conference and Money, Macro and Finance Research Group conference.
I am currently interested to supervise Ph.D. students in the areas of Corporate Finance and Sustainable Finance.
I am currently leading ACC3004, Derivative Markets and I also contribute in NBS8001, International Finance and Capital Markets and ACC3006. International Financial Management. In the past, I have also contributed in NBS8975, Financial Analysis, Decisions and Markets.
