My experience with the School's careers services has been fantastic. I believe the mandatory employability sessions before applying to the Bridges Internships significantly improved my cover letter and interview performance.

Many of our teaching colleagues have led successful careers in industry before joining the Business School. You will learn directly from their experiences, so you can work across international contexts when you leave us.

Real-world experiences

We offer:

  • internships: paid part-time internships with employers
  • access to graduate jobs through our dedicated portal

Two students converse at a networking event. One, with a laptop open, listens attentively, while the other gestures as he speaks. A poster of wind turbines at sunset and a small plant are visible.

Working with businesses

Connect and engage with graduate employers from across industry sectors and get one step ahead in your chosen career.

You can do this through:

  • experiential site visits: on-site visits to graduate employers. Previous visits have included P&G, UBS, Black Rock, Lloyds, Bloomberg, PwC, THG, Second Home

  • Hub takeovers: graduate employers frequently join us in our Career Hub to showcase their latest hiring opportunities, provide their industry insights and network with our students.

The opportunities created by the careers service have served as a fast-track to my dream career. In particular, the United Nations Sustainable Business Challenge. I have established strong connections with employers which are invaluable.

Alumni connections

We have a global network of more than 34,000 alumni from over 150 countries. Our alumni engage with our students through a range of events and activities. These include:

Study abroad

Postgraduate semester abroad

Study a complementary subject for one semester at an overseas partner university at the end of your studies. Deepen your academic learning and develop skills that will set you apart from other graduates.

This will allow you to:

  • see the world
  • enhance your knowledge
  • build international networks
  • improve your language skills
  • increase confidence in working on an international scale
  • increase cultural awareness
  • gain valuable life skills not taught in the lecture theatre

Studies undertaken at a partner university will not count towards a double/dual degree award. However, you will receive a transcript from your host university evidencing your achievements.

Please note that students who complete this scheme will not be eligible for the UK graduate work visa.

Where can I study?

You can study at the one of our partner universities in either France, Germany, Italy or Spain. These are shown on the map below:

Shorter international experiences

We understand that a semester abroad may not be an option for all students. We also promote a range of short-term international experiences, including summer schools and global challenges. These opportunities vary from year to year.

Summer schools

Study at one of our partner universities for 1-6 weeks.

These opportunities usually focus on one aspect of business to help you master something of interest to you. This could be anything from cryptocurrency or entrepreneurship, to football finance or the wine trade.

Global challenges

If you’re looking for a challenge, take part in a global competition. Show your skills and knowledge in a subject area and it could be your passport to global experience.

You will work across time zones and continents alongside students from some of our world-class international partner universities.

Gain an insight into what it’s like to work in a virtual team; something many global employers will need you to do daily.
