The city of Newcastle upon Tyne, and the wider North East region, have evolved over the years to offer a beautiful blend of history and modernity. We're proud of our unique skyline, which includes seven iconic bridges along the River Tyne.

Our region has transformed from industrial origins to a revitalised and vibrant commercial, educational and creative hub. It's steeped with history and beautiful coastlines and we love welcoming our students.

Around the Business School

The School is the gateway to Newcastle Helix. It's a hub for tech, science, businesses and the local community.

We're directly opposite St. James’ Park – home to Newcastle United Football Club.

We're also less than a 5-minute walk to Chinatown and Leazes Park, offering culture and green outdoor space on your doorstep. Chinatown, one of just five in the UK, is home to restaurants, supermarkets, shops, cafes, salons, housing agents, and more.

Green spaces

Newcastle is not short of green spaces, giving you plenty of opportunities to explore in the fresh air.

The Business School is less than a 5-minute walk from Leazes Park, a quiet place amongst the city. Or explore Jesmond Dene, the paradise known for its iconic waterfall and farm.

Nearby amenities

The city of Newcastle is easily explored via the Metro, a network of underground rails, or by bus.

The city centre is just a short Metro journey away from Newcastle International Airport, giving you links around the globe. You can also explore the UK easily via train from Newcastle Central Station..

Newcastle is well known for its shops. Retail centres, supermarkets, markets and cultural food shops are just a short walk from the School.

Iconic landmarks

There are many must-see sights in and around Newcastle.

Stroll along the Quayside, take in the sights of the bridges over the river (including the world-famous Tyne Bridge), and explore the weekly market.

Discover the castle that gave Newcastle its name, just a short walk from the School.

Browse independent shops and eateries in the historic Grainger Market.

Venture further afield and visit the iconic Angel of the North, a sculpture symbolic of the North East.

The North East region is filled with surprises. You're never far from the countryside, award-winning beaches and World Heritage sites.

Enjoy sandy beaches at Whitley Bay and Tynemouth. Discover the historic Hadrian's Wall and explore the rolling hills of the Northumberland countryside.
