Wolfson Childhood Cancer Centre
Research at Wolfson Centre in the Hershel Building is centred around childhood cancer. There are more than 100 members of staff based in this part of our Centre.
It is facility where clinical and research teams from across our university, city and region come together. We work together to advance our understanding of how to treat childhood cancers. We focus on:
- developing less toxic therapies with fewer side-effects
- more effective treatment options for youngsters with advanced cancer
- those whose illness has returned
Our facilities here were officially opened by internationally-renowned author Bill Bryson, patron of the Future Fund, in 2016.
The facilities were funded by:
- the Wolfson Foundation
- the Barbour Foundation
- the Garfield Weston Foundation
- NECCR
- and as part of our Future Fund campaign
