Northern Centre for Cancer Care (NCCC) at The Freeman Hospital
Regional Cancer Centre opened in 2009 housing state of the art facilities to deliver comprehensive cancer care to patients in the Northern Region. Clinical trials catchment population of 3.5M. The Cancer Centre has inpatient facilities as well as a busy day treatment centre, and an increasing number of affiliated ambulatory care units. NCCC coordinates deliver of cancer care across the region on a hub and spoke model, with consultants providing cancer care also in multiple district hospitals across Northumberland and County Durham. The Sir Bobby Robson unit, a dedicated early phase trials unit, is located within NCCC.
