Roles and Responsibilities

I became the Senior Manager for Work Experience and Graduate Opportunities in February 2024, now overseeing the teams who provide insights and work experience opportunities to help our students towards their next steps upon graduation.

Prior to this, I was Curriculum Team Manager for 10 years, managing the team who deliver the Career Development Modules to c500 students from across the University, the Careers Service Placement Module and the ncl+ award. I am also currently the Chair of the Careers Service Board of Studies and Board of Examiners.

Background

I started working for Newcastle University in May 2002 and my previous team (the Curriculum Unit) joined the Careers Service in April 2006. Prior to this, upon graduation I had short term posts within museums, county council and banking before travelling for a year.
