Background
Gillian started working for Newcastle University in June 2001 and her team (the Curriculum Unit) joined the Careers Service in April 2006. Prior to this, upon graduation she worked as an archaeologist, and as a civil servant.
Roles and Responsibilities
Gillian is the Faculty Engagement Manager within the Careers and Employability Team with responsibility to lead, manage and develop the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMS) team to ensure our current students and recent graduates have access to the best possible curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular employability and enterprise provision. Prior to this, Gillian was a member of the Careers Service Curriculum Team with responsibility for information management for the Career Development Modules (CDM), management of procedures for Safeguarding, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, and risk assessment. Gillian was also a module leader for NCL2007 Career Development Module, and module tutor on other modules which involved teaching and support for students. Gillian is also currently an External Examiner for postgraduate education courses at the University of Cumbria.
