UK Research and Innovation Infrastructure Roadmap: Energy
The first in a series of consultation workshops to help to identify the UK’s future energy infrastructure needs.
The EPSRC National Centre for Energy Systems Integration has been commissioned by EPSRC and UKRI to assist in the creation of the UK research and innovation infrastructure roadmap for Energy looking to the long term (2030).
This work was based on a picture of existing UK infrastructure on energy (including key international facilities in which the UK participates), future requirements (research, economic and social), and resulting investment priorities. The main focus of the workshop was to define future needs in broad terms, encompassing fossil fuels and nuclear energy, to renewable energy sources and hydrogen and from pure science to applied engineering.
This was an invitation only event, attended by key individuals in industry academia and government working in the energy field.
Further details of the consultation and the resulting UKRI reports are available on our UKRI Research Innovation and Infrastructure pages.
