CESI paper chosen as a featured article in IET Smart Grid issue
CESI publication has been highlighted as quality research with important impact by IET’s editors.
As of 2021, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) highlight a ‘featured article’ in their bi-monthly issue.
The chosen article is selected by the journal editorial team of IET, specifically selected by the Co-Editors-in-Chief (HongJian SUN and Ram Rajagopal), as noteworthy based on the quality and impact of the research presented.
The October 2021 edition of the issue (Volume 4, Issue 5), features a paper researched and written by Dr Zoya Pourmirza, Professor Sara Walker and John Brooke titled ‘Data reduction algorithm for correlated data in the smart grid’.
The paper, originally published in February 2021, discusses the information and communication technology (ICT) in the smart grid, including:
- The requirements for monitoring and control of the neighbourhood area network level of the smart grid
- energy efficiency of the ICT infrastructure
One method to assess energy efficiency of ICT it to create a data reduction technique which was developed and named DRACO (data reduction algorithm for correlated data).
Find out more about the use and case studies of how DRACO can be applied to grid data, here.
