Great success! CESI's Annual Research Conference 2019
CESI recently welcomed over 60 researchers to its Newcastle University HQ for its Annual Research Conference.
This year’s conference had an overarching theme of Collaboration across CESI, crossing boundaries between institutions and disciplines. The 1-day event, chaired by CESI Director, Professor Phil Taylor, brought together researchers and academics awarded funding through the CESI Flexible Funding Calls, the CESI academic consortium and invited representatives from large UK Energy research projects.
Keynote speakers
CESI was delighted to welcome three Keynote Speakers to deliver talks at the conference:
- Emma Pinchbeck, Deputy Chief Executive, RenewableUK
- Professor Stephen McArthur, University of Strathclyde; Director, EnergyREV
- Professor Keith Bell, University of Strathclyde, Member of the Committee on Climate Change
Breadth of CESI research
The event’s programme included 3 presentation sessions on different aspects of CESI’s research, with the lunchtime poster session providing further opportunity to showcase the Centre’s activities. The day concluded with a working session focussing on “Collaboration opportunities across energy research consortia”. This session, chaired by CESI Director, Professor Phil Taylor, considered how CESI and other major UK energy research projects can work together.
Session 1: CESI and beyond
