IEEE PES Women in Power Global Summit
The Women in Power Global Summit was a three day conference focusing on the theme ‘Connecting with Inspiration’.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Power and Energy Society (PES) Women in Power Global Summit took place on 17th November - 19th November 2021.
The program of the virtual Summit was as follows:
- Overcoming Challenges as Women Leaders in Power and Energy Industry
- A Widespread Review of Smart Grids Towards Smart Cities
- Electricity Markets and Power Exchanges: Vision from our continents
- Transitions to Low Carbon electricity systems
- Conversations that Count: Short WiP stories
Dr Nabila Ahmed Rufa'I joined CESI in September 2021 after completing her PhD from the University of Leeds. Nabila is a research associate for CESI and joins the Centre for Energy, whose research interests cover the topics including:
- Techno-Economic and Environmental Impact Analysis of Low Carbon Technologies
- Power Quality Enhancement
- Advanced Control of Renewable Energy Systems
Nabila gave an intresting presentation on Day Three of this event on the topic of 'Transition to Low Carbon Energy Systems'. Nabila oulines the 5 W's of pathway to using Low Carbon Energy Systems with insightful comparisions to her home country, Nigeria.
