Valentin's research interests include using distributed Artificial Intelligence, multi-agent systems and machine learning techniques to solve challenges arising in smart electricity grids. More specifically, his recent research addressed a variety of problems in this area, ranging the from decentralised scheduling of multiple electric vehicles, such that network operational limits are not exceeded, to using data analytics for asset monitoring and optimization of power distribution networks, or designing efficient algorithms for real-time, distributed demand-side response.
