Background
- Devki is a technologist with both academic and industrial experience in research, development and teaching. Currently, he is a Lecturer of Computing and a member of the Networked and Ubiquitous Systems Engineering (NUSE) group at the School of Computing, Newcastle University. Previously, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Oxford e-Research Centre, University of Oxford where he worked on the Trusted Public Cloud project. He received his PhD in Computer Science from Newcastle University in 2021. His research interests include Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Trust and security and Machine Learning. He was also involved in the design and development of multiple IoT simulators.
- Jha was one of the recipients of the prestigious Newcastle Singapore Scholarship. He has garnered numerous academic accolades, including securing the All India Rank 2 (among 30000 students) in the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) entrance exam for the MTech, All India Rank 962 (99.16 percentile) (among 115425 students) for Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineers (GATE), awarded Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and University Grant Commission (UGC) National Eligibility Test (NET).
- Jha is an associate editor for Springer Nature Computer Science (SNCS). He has also been an external reviewer of more than 20 journals including IEEE Transactions on Services Computing, IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Computing, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Communications, IEEE Networks, ACM Computing Surveys, ACM Transactions on Internet of Things, Future Generation Computer Systems and Software: Practice and Experience.

Research
The central theme of his research revolves around automatic, zero-trust and intelligent Cloud and IoT applications (Edge-Cloud systems, Healthcare systems, and Transportation systems). In particular:
- Kernel-level monitoring for cloud and IoT environment (using Kernel Module and extended Berkley Packet Filters)
- Zero-trust platform for intelligent IoT applications
- High accuracy and energy-efficient IoT application execution on mobile devices (mainly focused on Human Activity Recognition)
- Simulation (design and development)
