I am a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant (PGTA) and a PhD Researcher in the Secure and Resilient Systems Group of the School of Computing at Newcastle University. Prior to joining Newcastle University, I worked at ESOFT Metro Campus in Sri Lanka from 2015 to 2023, where I held various roles, culminating in my position as a Lecturer and Programme Manager.
In 2020, I earned my MSc in Network and Information Security (with Distinction) from Kingston University London, where I was honoured with the Best Performer and Most Outstanding Performer awards, recognizing my academic excellence and dedication.
Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at Newcastle University, which I commenced in September 2023. My research focuses on cybersecurity and privacy, with a particular emphasis on the security and privacy of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), and Critical Infrastructures. I am particularly interested in developing defence mechanisms for CPSs by leveraging side channels from sensors, actuators, and controllers.
Research interests:
Cyber-Physical Systems Security
Side channel-based Defences
Internet of Things (IoT)
Critical Infrastructures
