Choosing Computer Science at Newcastle
The main draw of Newcastle University for me was the Game Engineering course. A lot of other game-related courses at the time focused on design.
Newcastle provided a programming course, which set it apart from others.
The University is also part of the Russell Group and ranked in the high 200s of The Times Higher Education World University Rankings in 2014.
It was the only high-ranking University offering a game programming course, which was my main interest.
Teaching quality
I found the teaching quality was very good. The staff are very approachable if you have any questions. The demonstrators in the practical sessions are always there to help.
Industry veterans taught all the game modules. They are a great source of knowledge, even if you ask about things that are outside of the course content.
