This could involve formal sabbatical leave (maximum 1 year) or shorter research visits (minimum 1 month). Normally, CRE International Fellows will hold a PhD in social sciences and carry out research which aligns with the interests of CRE. We are particularly keen to support international Fellows who are interested in developing collaborative research projects with CRE members of staff and all Fellows are expected to work in line with our mission and core values.

Owing to high demand by international visitors and limited space, we cannot host all the applicants who wish to spend time at CRE so this is a selective process. The offer to join CRE’s International Fellowship Programme is also subject to fully meeting University and visa (if any) criteria to reside in the UK.

Fellowship conditions:

The CRE International Fellows must satisfy the following conditions:

• The research project carried out by the Fellow must be of CRE interest, in alignment with our three core values, and endorsed by a CRE member of staff.
• The appointment term must be at least one month and not more than one year in duration.
• The appointment is subject to standard University criteria regarding eligibility to work in the UK or visa for entry to the UK (see here).

1. A two page CV
2. A one page description of planned research and activities, including:

• Proposed start and end dates
• Name of CRE member of staff endorsing the proposal
• Details of how the Fellowship is funded
• Expected outcomes of the Fellowship

The application will be discussed and decided at the CRE Management Board and prospective applicants will be notified as soon as possible.
