Discussion papers

Our Discussion Papers cover research, policy and methodological issues. They’re aimed at a wide audience including policy makers and those interested in rural areas and rural development. They can include agenda-setting pieces (topics for further research), results (summaries of research projects) or commentaries on current policy developments.

The Centre for Rural Economy is vitally important to [organisations] that don’t have the capacity to do their own research but have to work in a very complex environment.

Tony Gates, Chief Executive of Northumberland National Park

Our Research Reports present the complete findings of externally-funded research contracts awarded to members of the Centre for Rural Economy.

Our series of Policy Notes draw out implications for policy from our research, and raise issues for future investigation.
