Eat the View: Phases I and II

The main aim of Eat the View (ETV) was to promote sustainable local produce.

  • Sponsors: The Countryside Agency

There were four main objectives to the initiative:

  1. Increase consumer awareness of purchased products and the countryside
  2. Increase demand for local/regional sustainable products
  3. Increase marketing opportunities for producers through promoting landscape
  4. Increase sustainable land management practices

To date, research has been undertaken on:

  1. Farmers' Markets
  2. Publicity follow-up (Journal’s Pride of North Article)
  3. North East Food Fair (Seahouses, Northumberland)
  4. North East hospitality sector, including a study into regional food groups as a mechanism for fulfilling ETV objectives.
