EEDA's Role in Improving Rural Service Access

The purpose of this project was to provide recommendations to the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) on mainstreaming rural issues more effectively into the Investing in Communities product.

  • Project Dates: 2006 (3 months)
  • Project Leader: Neil Ward
  • Sponsors: East of England Development Agency (EEDA)

The project identified the needs of rural communities, assess this against access to services and identify gaps at regional and/or sub-regional levels where further interventions are required. In particular, the study established the extent to which existing sub-regional activity and strategic plans are contributing to existing PSA 4 targets and make recommendations regarding necessary interventions that could be supported by the East of England's Investing in Communities Programme. These interventions were presented to EEDA in the form of an Action Plan for 2006/07 and beyond.
