Manufacturing Meaning Along the Food Commodity Chain

A study, funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), of the social, cultural and economic significance of food in Britain

This research employed life-history analysis with producers along the food ‘commodity chain’, supplemented by interviews with policy makers, to assess the extent to which everyday food choices are shaped by wider institutional forces. This project was being conducted with Prof Peter Jackson at the University of Sheffield. Summary Project Findings are available here: Manufacturing report.
