Regional Supply Chains Mapping Study

The project aimed to provide a clear picture of the current food requirements of the public sector in the Yorkshire and Humberside region.

  • Project Dates: 2005 (7 months)
  • Project Leader: Michael Bourlakis (project led by ADAS Consulting)
  • Sponsors: Yorkshire Forward

The research also aimed to identify the region’s ability to meet this demand under the possible development of an efficient and environmentally beneficial distribution network that would connect the producer with the customer. The project built on information already in existence to establish the quantities of specific products, such as vegetable, fruit, meat, etc., that were being produced in the region and accordingly, the quantities and specification of these products required by the public sector.
