This project sought to investigate the extent to which businesses in Wear Valley and Teesdale were using or had considered using renewable energy technology.

Through survey work with 40 agricultural and non-agricultural businesses in the area, the study aimed to find out: the level of knowledge and understanding amongst businesses of the opportunities available to them in installing renewable energy technology; any barriers they had encountered in finding out about or installing such technology; their needs in terms of support and advice on renewable technology; and any supply chain opportunities available to businesses in the area.
