Boxes

Boxes

Boxes can be used to build grids for your site's homepage and top task pages. This section of the demo outlines the building blocks for grids.

Grids can be used to highlight your site's top tasks. They are a bold piece of content and should be used sparingly. Too many grid pages can cause confusion for a user about where they are in the hierarchy of your site. They should be used on your homepage, section openers or key navigational pages.

Any content preceding a grid should be kept short, eg an introduction and a single, short paragraph.

Low-level pages should not use grids if the section opener contains a grid. For example if you've used a grid on your main research page, any pages within the research section shouldn't have grids on them.

Box titles should ideally fit on a single line and be in title case.

Grid layouts

Grids are built using the Content Blocks content type '04. Box'. You can create grids of two or three columns with a maximum of two rows.

Multiple grids can be added to a page but must be broken up with headings and contextual content.
